Jamshedpur, Aug 5: In a bid to promote research works in the field of glass and ceramic technology, NIT, Jamshedpur and Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Calcutta have come together for working as a team.
NIT, Jamshedpur, director, Dr Gautam Sutradhar and CGCRI, Calcutta, director, Dr Suman Kumari Mishra made an announcement to this effect at a meeting held at Calcutta on Friday evening.
The Calcutta-based CGCRI is one of the four institutions under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to have been acclaimed for achieving excellence in the research field of optical glass and ceramic.
According to this initiative, the students of these two institutes would share their knowledge and technical expertise between themselves and carry out research work by going over to each other’s institutes.
Speaking about this significant decision by the NIT, Jamshedpur and CGCRI, Calcutta, the NIT, Jamshedpur’s spokesman Prof. Sunil Kumar Bhagat informed that the initiative will pave the way for internship and knowledge-exchange program in each other’s Institute for making the innovation work more effectively.
Prof. Bhagat informed that authorities of both the institutions will sign an MoU to this effect as soon as humanly possible.
