Ranchi, Aug.19: The campaign to save “Ikkiso- Mahadev’, the Nagvanshi heritage located at the confluence of Swarnarekha and Harmu River, is now bearing fruit.
The campaign to clean the Swarnarekha and preserve the ancient 21 Shivlings is getting widespread support from the people.
Now, the Swarnarekha Utthan Samiti will conduct a campaign to write postcards to the Prime Minister (PM) and the Chief Minister (CM) on a wide scale. The committee members will appeal to every family to write a postcard to save Swarnarekha and ancient Shiva Lingas.
A committee member Sudhir Sharma said that the formal beginning of the campaign will start from August 22 at Kishoreganj-based school, where 600 children will write postcards to the PM and the CM.
He said that many schools have given their consent to participate in this campaign. In the first phase, apart from Ranchi, school children from Ramgarh, Bundu, McCluskieganj and other places will be a part of this campaign.
A target has been set by the committee to write 21 lakh postcards from all over Jharkhand to the PM and the CM. Each family has been requested to write at least 2 postcards. “By spending one rupee, if people forward this topic through postcards, then surely the Swarna Rekha become clean and Shivlinga will be preserved,” he said.
On August 13, for the purpose of creating public awareness, a 21-kilometer Kanwar Yatra was also organized from Ranichuan, the origin of the Swarnrekha, to Ekiso Mahadev at Chutia. More than 400 Kanwariyas made people aware through this journey.
After this Kanwar Yatra, there has been a considerable increase in the number of devotees in Ikkiso Mahadev. People are now coming from far and wide to have darshan of Mahadev.
