New Delhi, August 26: An updated website with a user-friendly interface, value-added features and new modules was introduced by the income tax department on Saturday.
Nitin Gupta, Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), introduced the newly updated website at the ‘Chintan Shivir’ at Udaipur that was organised by the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems).
“In order to enhance taxpayer experience and keep pace with new technology, the Income Tax Department has revamped its National website ‘www.incometaxindia.gov.in’ with a user-friendly interface, value-added features, and new modules,” the CBDT said in a statement.
A mobile-responsive layout has been used in the makeover of the website.
The website also contains a ‘Mega Menu’ for content with fresh features and functionalities.
All of these new enhancements are explained via a virtual tour and new button indicators for the convenience of website users.
Users are now able to compare various Acts, sections, laws, and tax treaties thanks to the new functionality. To make navigation on the site easier, all relevant content has been tagged with Income Tax sections.
In addition, dynamic due date alerts functionality provides tool tips, links to pertinent portals and reverse countdowns to make it easier for taxpayers to comply.
The revamped website is another effort to offer improved taxpayer services and will continue to inform users and make it easier for them to comply with tax laws, according to the CBDT.
