Dhanbad, Aug 28: All India Advocate Clerk Federation (AICF) chairman and chief general secretary of Jharkhand Advocate Clerk Association (JACA) Padam Kumar Bhatt (86) passed away today.
He had been sick for the last six months. His condition deteriorated in the morning and was admitted to the nearest Sadar hospital where he took his last breath.
Padam Kumar Bhat has been chairman of the All India Advocate Clerk Federation since 2013. He founded the Bihar Advocate Clerk Association in 1985 and became its first chief general secretary.
When Jharkhand became a separate state in 2000, Padam Kumar Bhatt formed the Advocate Clerk Association and was unanimously elected its chief general secretary and since then he continued in the post at the request of 10,000 advocate clerks of the state.
For his efforts, the Jharkhand government has introduced a stamp of Rs 5 on each case for clerk welfare as stamp of Rs 25 is implemented for the advocates’ welfare.
Dhanbad Bar Association and Dhanbad Advocate Clerk Association president KK Sinha and general secretary KK Lala expressed deep shock over the death of Padam Kumar Bhatt.
He has left behind three sons, Uday Kumar Bhatt, Abhay Bhatt and Ajay Bhatt (all practitioner lawyers) and two daughters (both married). Dhanbad Press Club president Ashok Kumar, vice-president Sharad Pandey and Ravi Kumar Jha have also condoled the death.
