CM Critical Illness Treatment Scheme: Ranchi-Dhanbad get additional allocation of Rs 1 crore each

Ranchi, Sept 10: An additional allocation of Rs 1 crore each has been made to Ranchi and Dhanbad for the Chief Minister Critical Illness Treatment Scheme, Chief Minister Free Diagnostic and Radiology Test Scheme, Chief Minister Free Cervical Cancer and Breast Cancer Screening Scheme.

The officer for withdrawal and disposal of the allotted amount will be the Civil Surgeon of the concerned district whereas the controlling officer of the amount will be Additional Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Singh.

The Chief Minister’s Serious Illness Treatment Scheme provides benefits for treatment in designated hospitals both within and outside the state. After approval from the district-level committee, the necessary funds are allocated to the respective hospitals. So far, an allocation of 5 crore rupees has been made for the Dhanbad district. Previously, the district had been allotted 4 crore rupees. Currently, an allocation of 1 crore rupees has been made. Similarly, Ranchi district has been allocated 2.50 crore rupees. Previously, the district had been allotted 1.5 crore rupees. Currently, an allocation of 1 crore rupees has been made.

The benefit of the Chief Minister Critical Illness Treatment Scheme is available to those people whose gross annual income is less than Rs 8 lakh for three consecutive years. There is a provision of medical assistance grant to those affected by a total of 21 diseases including all types of cancer, kidney transplant, severe liver disease and acid attack.
