Jamshedpur, Sept 13: Many places across Jharkhand are expected to experience rain today, said a bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The Met Centre also issued an alert of heavy rain at some places in southern and central parts of Jharkhand today.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Shivpuri, Ranchi, Digha and thence southeastwards to the east-central Bay of Bengal.
The cyclonic circulation over the east-central Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood lies over central parts of the Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Bay of Bengal.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Subsequently, it is likely to become more marked and move west-northwestwards across south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast.
The east-west trough was running from cyclonic circulation over Southwest Uttar Pradesh and its neighbourhood to cyclonic circulation over central parts of the Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Bay of Bengal across southeast Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, North Odisha and extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, a heavy rain alert is also issued for the next two days, which weathermen were hopeful would help in bringing down the state’s rain deficit which is currently 34 per cent.
