Dhanbad, Sept 14: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) squad of Dhanbad today arrested a revenue staff Sushil Kumar Sinha of Topchachi Circle Office, around 40 km away from the Dhanbad district headquarters while taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 for land acquisition-related papers.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of ACB Dhanbad Jitendra Kumar Singh said that on the complaint of Sharad Kumar Mahto, a resident of Singhdih of Topchachi block, the ACB set up a team and caught revenue staff Sushil Kumar Sinha red-handed in his office.
The land of Sharad Kumar Mahto on the side of National Highway-2 is being acquired. For this, the Dhanbad land acquisition office demanded a land paper report from Sharad Kumar Mahto. He visited Topchachi Circle Office for the same several times but revenue staff Sushil Kumar Sinha demanded Rs 10,000 to give the paper.
Finally, Sharad Kumar Mahto complained to the ACB Dhanbad regarding the bribe demanded by the revenue staff. The ACB official after confirming the complaint asked him to break the deal and gave him Rs 5,000 to pay the revenue staff as an instalment against Rs 10,000.
Today in the afternoon as Sharad Kumar Mahto paid Rs 5,000 to Sushil Kumar Sinha for the paper, the ACB squad nabbed him on the spot. After that the ACB squad brought him to the Dhanbad district headquarters for interrogation.
