Gautam Buddh Nagar, Sep 16: One person was killed and another was critically hurt in a bike-truck collision on Saturday in Greater Noida city of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, according to a news release from the district police.
“Today, on September 16, at around 2:30 am, information was received through PRV (Police Response Vehicle) at Police Station Beta-2 that two persons on a bike collided with a truck coming from Kasana at the P-3 roundabout due to which, one person died on the spot and the other has been admitted to the hospital in injured condition” read the official statement.
The deceased has been named as Rohit Kumar (20), and the injured has been named as Avitanashal (20), both of whom were from Manipur, according to the release.
Avitanashal was a BTech student at Sharda University in Greater Noida whereas Rohit was a BA student, according to the official statement.
The incident was reported to the students’ families and the college administration and after receiving a complaint from the families; more legal action will be taken.
The driver of the truck fled the area where a search is being done for him, according to the announcement.
The case is currently the subject of additional action and an inquiry.
