Jamshedpur, Sept 29: Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain in isolated areas of Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said no significant synoptic condition prevails over the state.
A cyclonic circulation lies over Myanmar and the adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over east-central and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, it is likely to become a well-marked low-pressure area and move northwestwards towards north Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coasts during the subsequent 48 hours.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was experienced at a few places over the state.
Monsoon activity was normal over the state, said weathermen adding that heavy rainfall is expected at a few isolated places in southern Jharkhand after the next 24 hours.
