Jamshedpur, Sept 30: The Ranchi- based Indian Institute of Management (IIM) hosted its inaugural flagship management conclave on Friday.
The inaugural day of the conclave featured panel discussions and individual talks from experts and industry leaders, highlighting the ideas shaping today’s business world and provided the students a chance to interact first hand with industry juggernauts.
The event started with a rendition of the national song followed by the lighting of the lamps by the dignitaries – Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, director, IIM Ranchi, Prof. Varun Elembilassery, chairperson, Corporate Relations and Placement Committee and the chief guest, Sanjay Kumar Verma, director (Commercial), Mecon Limited.
The dignitaries then addressed the audience with their inspiring words, setting the foundation for the inaugural management conclave.
It was followed by the students presenting rich cultural heritage of Jharkhand by performing tribal dance, song and folk dance native to the state.
The first panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Virajanand Varma, featured Paramveer Singh Narang, India Head Talent Acquisition, Capital One; Mr NarayanRao K, Senior Vice President & Head – HR, KPIL; and Mr Vamsi Karavadi, Director HR Consulting, Deloitte who shared their insights on the future of talent acquisition in India.
The second half of the event commenced with Rohit Punnose, Sr Director, Data Science, Target, enlightening the audience on the use of Artificial Intelligence for space optimisation in the retail industry. Yugal Joshi, partner, Everest Group, then proceeded by speaking about the role of Artificial Intelligence in Consulting and Professional Services.
Ashok Jaiswar, VP & Head – Marketing, Finolex, narrated the Brand Revitalisation story of Finolex. Anish Shrivastava (HR) highlighted the Human Capital Strategy of Finolex. The students got opportunities to enhance their understanding of the discussed subjects through Q&Asessions wherein the speakers directly answered their questions.
Paramveer Singh Narang, India Head Talent Acquisition, and Ashmita Bose, HR, Business Partner delivered a joint session, discussing how Artificial Intelligence can be used to boost diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the role of Artificial Intelligence in talent acquisition.
