New Delhi, Oct 27: The 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on Friday.
The Prime Minister was observed engaging in discussions with representatives from prominent telecommunications companies.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd Chairman Akash Ambani, who briefed him on the work his company is doing in the telecoms sector. He gave an explanation of Reliance Jio’s Space Fibre program, which offers speeds of up to 1 Gbps. The 4G service-providing Jio Bharat device is also on display at the Jio pavilion.
The chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Sunil Bharti Mittal, interacted with the Prime Minister as well. Bharti Enterprises is demonstrating what it refers to as the ‘future of innovation’ at the Mobile Congress through digital infrastructure, AI-enabled technology, and 5G Plus.
As part of the ‘100 5G Labs initiative’, PM Modi will also present awards during the ceremony to 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ that have been established in academic institutions throughout India.
