Jamshedpur, Oct 29: A three-member team from Jharkhand High Court (JHC) on Sunday started carrying out the inspection of the buildings set up in deviation in the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) command area.
Apart from looking into the buildings constructed in deviation from approved building plans, the Jharkhand High Court panel will look into the parking arrangements made by the civic body.
In this connection, a local do-gooder, Rakesh Jha filed a petition with the Jharkhand High Court, leading the High Court to send the team for the inspection.
In the petition, Jha had mentioned about over 1,200 buildings, especially the commercial ones, which have not only been set up in deviation from the approved building plan, but also the owners of the commercial buildings have let out space in the basement for commercial purposes instead of using them for parking purpose.
The JNAC had all along taken ‘punitive’ measures but such action more or less remained just an eyewash.
Those who get their building plan passed from the civic body for making ground plus two tend to finish as much as ground plus four or ground plus five.
People who would lodge complaints with the Jamshedpur SDO or Deputy Commissioner would not get any relief.
The visiting High Court team today carried out the inspection at the Aambagan area in Sakchi and is expected to do the inspection in the Bistupur area tomorrow.
A few officials from the JNAC were also seen moving along with the visiting High Court team during the inspection at the Aambagan area.
