New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is anticipated to present the full Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on July 24 during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, according to a recent report. The Economic Survey is expected to be tabled a day earlier, on July 23, as per sources cited by the Financial Express. However, the final dates have not yet been confirmed and will be officially announced soon.
Typically, there is a 15-day gap between two sessions of Parliament. With the inaugural session of the 18th Lok Sabha having concluded on July 2, the next session is expected to commence between July 18 and July 22. This timeline aligns with the potential budget presentation on July 24.
In her address to the joint session of Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized that the first budget of the Narendra Modi 3.0 government will introduce significant economic and social reforms aimed at rapid development. She highlighted that the budget will prioritize the poor, youth, women, and farmers, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and its vision for making India a developed nation.
President Murmu stated, “A stable government with a clear majority is a mandate that the work of making India a developed nation continues uninterrupted and India attains its goals. This budget will be an effective document of the government’s far-reaching policies and futuristic vision. Along with major economic and social decisions, many historic steps will also be seen in this budget.”
The interim Budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 did not include major policy changes or concessions for the middle class, focusing instead on continuity and stability. The upcoming full Budget is expected to unveil more comprehensive and transformative policies aimed at driving India’s growth and development in the coming years.
