New Delhi: Fresh from their triumph at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has extended a special invitation to Team India fans. Sharma has announced a grand victory parade to celebrate the win, set to take place at Marine Drive and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on July 4th.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Rohit shared the details of the celebratory roadshow. “We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards. It’s coming home,” the Indian captain mentioned in his post. He also shared a photo with teammate Suryakumar Yadav, confirming that the World Cup heroes are finally heading home after Hurricane Beryl delayed their departure from the Caribbean.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah also shared details about the upcoming roadshow on social media. “Join us for the Victory Parade honouring Team India’s World Cup win! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate with us! Save the date!” Shah posted.

The World Cup-winning team, along with support staff and media contingent, departed from Grantley Adams International Airport on a charter flight. India clinched the T20 World Cup on Saturday with a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the final. However, the team was stranded in Barbados for three days due to category 4 Hurricane Beryl.

Rohit and his team departed for Delhi on the Air India special charter flight—AIC24WC—Air India Champions 24 World Cup, leaving at 4:50 a.m. local time. The World Cup heroes are scheduled to arrive in Delhi on Thursday around 6:20 a.m. IST. “Coming home,” Rohit mentioned in his previous post. Following their return, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate Rohit’s Team India.
