Balochistan: In a tragic incident on Monday, at least 23 people lost their lives in Pakistan’s Balochistan province when gunmen targeted bus passengers after stopping them under the pretext of checking their identities. The brutal attack occurred in the Musakhel district, where armed assailants intercepted vehicles and carried out the massacre.

According to Assistant Commissioner Musakhel, Najeeb Kakar, the victims have been identified as residents of Punjab. The attackers blocked the inter-provincial highway in the Rarasham area of Musakhel, forcing passengers off the buses before setting fire to ten vehicles.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the heinous act of terrorism, expressing his deep condolences and sympathies to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister described the incident as a cowardly act of violence that targeted innocent civilians.

Federal Information Minister for Balochistan, Attaullah Tarar, also condemned the atrocity, vowing that the government would relentlessly pursue the terrorists responsible. In a statement on X, he assured the public that “terrorists and their facilitators will not escape an exemplary end.”

The attackers’ brutality, as they targeted innocent passengers near Musakhel, has drawn widespread condemnation. The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) also released a statement expressing heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families.

Punjab government spokesperson Azma Bukhari expressed her anger and dismay over the attack, reflecting the growing outrage across the nation.
