New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has declined to grant any relief to Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the former president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), in connection with a sexual harassment case filed against him. The court has directed Singh’s lawyer to submit a concise note outlining all the arguments for quashing the case.

Singh’s petition is a challenge to the ongoing legal proceedings against him, where he faces serious charges, including sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of several women wrestlers. He has contested the First Information Report (FIR), the chargesheet, and the trial court’s decision to frame charges against him.

The former WFI chief argues that the investigation was conducted with bias, claiming that only the victims’ perspectives were considered. He further alleged that the chargesheet was filed without thoroughly examining the veracity of the accusations against him.

Brij Bhushan, a six-time Member of Parliament representing constituencies like Gonda, Balrampur, and Kaiserganj, found himself at the center of controversy following allegations by six women wrestlers. These allegations not only led to criminal charges but also resulted in him being denied a ticket for this year’s Lok Sabha elections and eventually stepping down from his position as WFI chief.

As the case proceeds, Singh’s legal team is expected to submit their arguments in detail, contesting the fairness of the investigation and the charges brought against him.
