Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand: A helicopter carrying Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar and Uttarakhand’s Additional Chief Election Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdand had to make an emergency landing in Pithoragarh district on Wednesday. Fortunately, all passengers, including the two officials, are safe, the Uttarakhand government confirmed.

The helicopter was en route to Munsiyari, a region in the Pithoragarh district, when the emergency occurred. Initial reports indicate that the landing was precautionary, and no injuries have been reported.

The officials were on their way to oversee election-related arrangements, and their safe landing has been a relief amid the tight election schedule.
