25+ Bomb Threats Target Flights, Government Requests Data from Meta and X

New Delhi: Over 25 flights operated by different airlines were hit with bomb threats on Friday afternoon, including multiple aircrafts from IndiGo, Vistara, SpiceJet, and Air India, sources reported to PTI. This spate of threats included at least seven flights each from IndiGo, Vistara, and SpiceJet, and six Air India flights.

Detailed Threats to IndiGo Flights

The IndiGo flights affected by the bomb threats include:

  • Flight 6E 11: Delhi to Istanbul
  • Flight 6E 58: Jeddah to Mumbai
  • Flight 6E 17: Mumbai to Istanbul
  • Flight 6E 108: Hyderabad to Chandigarh
  • Flight 6E 133: Pune to Jodhpur
  • Flight 6E 87: Kozhikode to Dammam
  • Flight 6E 2099: Udaipur to Delhi

In a press statement, the airlines emphasized strict adherence to safety protocols, stating, “All necessary precautions are being taken, and we are working closely with the relevant authorities. The safety and security of our customers and crew remain our highest priority. We regret any inconvenience and appreciate the patience of our customers.”

Government Action on Bomb Threat Hoaxes

The government has responded by requesting data from Meta and X, the primary platforms through which these threats were communicated. With over 275 flights targeted by bomb threats in the past two weeks, authorities are ramping up efforts to trace those responsible for the threats and safeguard air travel.
