Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has renewed his appeal to the central government, urging them to release the pending amount of ₹1.36 lakh crore owed to the state. Soren’s plea comes as Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrives in Jharkhand, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit the state shortly afterward.

In a social media post, Soren stated, “Today, the Home Minister, and tomorrow, the Prime Minister are visiting Jharkhand. I respectfully request them to return the ₹1.36 lakh crore owed to Jharkhand and its people.” He emphasized that the funds are crucial for the development of Jharkhand and to ensure a better future for its residents.

Soren also addressed BJP members, particularly the state’s MPs, urging them to support Jharkhand’s demand and assist in securing these funds for the state. “I appeal to my colleagues in the BJP, especially the MPs, to help us in obtaining Jharkhand’s dues,” he added.

Context of the Financial Demand

The Jharkhand government has repeatedly highlighted the need for this amount to fulfill developmental commitments and address the state’s financial requirements. Soren’s current appeal underscores the importance of these funds for improving infrastructure, social welfare, and overall progress in the state.
