New Delhi: Former IAS trainee Puja Khedkar was denied anticipatory bail by the Delhi High Court on Monday. The court highlighted her intention to deceive authorities, stating her actions were part of a larger conspiracy to gain undue benefits through forged documents, including an OBC certificate and claims of physical disability.

Justice Chandra Dhari Singh, who presided over the case, remarked that the charges against Ms. Khedkar, including forgery and cheating, represent a “classic example of fraud.” The court stated that her actions were driven by a motive to dupe the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and exploit schemes meant for disadvantaged groups.
The bench further noted that the investigation suggested Ms. Khedkar was “unfit for appointment” and hinted at the involvement of her family members and potential collusion with government officials to secure fraudulent certificates.

•Name Alteration: Allegations of altering her name to mislead authorities were also raised, though she argued the changes were minor and inconsequential.
