New Delhi: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with renowned Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam artist Sivasri Skandaprasad on Thursday in a traditional ceremony at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru. The wedding incorporated Kannada and Tamil rituals, reflecting the couple’s rich cultural heritage.

Political Leaders Extend Best Wishes

• Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal congratulated the couple, extending his blessings.

• Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa also wished them a happy married life.

How Tejasvi Surya and Sivasri Met

• The couple first met at a Carnatic music concert in Chennai.

• Their bond deepened over time, and a family source revealed that Surya attended one of Sivasri’s performances in 2022, which led to meaningful conversations about music and life.

• “What started as discussions on music soon turned into something deeper—they discovered a shared perspective on life and eventually fell in love,” the source said.

Who is Sivasri Skandaprasad?

• Hails from Chennai and is a trained Carnatic musician and Bharatanatyam artist.

• Holds a bio-engineering degree from Sastra University but chose to pursue Indian classical arts full-time.

• Earned a Bharatanatyam degree from the University of Madras.

• Founder and Director of Ahuti, an initiative aimed at enriching young minds through Indian cultural experiences.

• Apart from singing and dancing, she also teaches recitation, painting, and part-time modelling.

• Has two internationally published research papers on drug-induced developmental defects.

Sivasri’s Rise to Fame and PM Modi’s Appreciation

• With over 1 lakh Instagram followers and 2 lakh YouTube subscribers, Sivasri’s devotional music has gained national recognition.

• Ahead of the Ram Temple consecration in Ayodhya, PM Narendra Modi praised her Kannada rendition of a devotional song, stating:

• “This rendition by Sivasri Skandaprasad in Kannada beautifully highlights the spirit of devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram. Such efforts go a long way in preserving our rich cultural heritage.”

• In response, Sivasri called the recognition an ‘honour beyond imagination.’

With this union, the couple embarks on a new journey, blending music, tradition, and politics in their shared path forward.
