Ranchi: Jharkhand’s Sports, Youth Affairs, Art-Culture & Tourism Minister Sudivya Kumar on Thursday reviewed the sports infrastructure and facilities being provided to players in Ranchi. The minister also conducted inspections of various sports complexes in the city.
Inspection Of Birsa Munda Football Stadium For SAFF Athletics Championship 2025
The minister inspected the Birsa Munda Football Stadium located in Morhabadi and reviewed preparations for the upcoming SAFF Athletics Championship 2025. He directed the concerned authorities to strengthen the stadium’s infrastructure and facilities before the event. The sports department was instructed to expedite the handover of the football ground from the Ranchi district administration and commence work without delay.
CM’s Instructions Must Be Implemented On Priority
Minister Sudivya Kumar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the “Abua Sarkar” is committed to taking sports in Jharkhand to new heights. He added that the government is dedicated to providing world-class training and resources to athletes, enabling them to perform gloriously at national and international platforms and bring pride to Jharkhand and the country.
He also inspected the Morhabadi Indoor Badminton Stadium and directed officials to ensure that the instructions given earlier by the Chief Minister are implemented on a priority basis.
High-Performance Centre Inspection
The minister inspected the High-Performance Centre operated by the Sports Department, reviewed fitness equipment and other technical resources, and interacted with players to understand their requirements.
He also inspected the Athletics Stadium, Indoor Stadium, and Badminton Stadium located in the Khelgaon complex. Following the inspection, he held a meeting with officials of the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) to review the progress of ongoing works.
Instructions For Renovation Of Sports Complexes
The minister directed that the renovation of the Khelgaon sports complexes and all activities related to player training and development should be completed swiftly. He emphasized that Khelgaon should be developed in such a manner that it becomes fully capable of hosting national and international level competitions in the future.
