Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren on Friday announced a decisive movement against the increasing cases of religious conversion and Bangladeshi infiltration in the state. Addressing the media in Ranchi, he declared that a mass agitation will be launched on June 30, marking Hul Diwas at Bhognadih, the historic land of tribal resistance.

Warning Against Silent Threats to Tribal Identity

Soren voiced serious concerns over the erosion of tribal cultural identity. “If timely steps are not taken to stop conversion, soon there will be no one left to perform worship at Sarhna tribal religious sites,” he said.

He demanded that those who abandon tribal customs or marry into another religion should be excluded from reservation benefits. “You cannot leave behind the tribal way of life and still demand privileges meant for tribals,” he stressed.

Allegations Against Bangladeshi Infiltrators

Soren accused Bangladeshi infiltrators of occupying tribal land and targeting tribal girls through manipulation and threats. He questioned the state government’s silence, saying, “Despite the presence of protective laws like the CNT and SPT Acts, how are these outsiders getting access to land? Who is helping them?”

Movement To Begin From Hul Diwas

He said that after Hul Diwas, the movement will intensify and “millions will take to the streets” to protect tribal interests. “We will take our message to the central government. The tribal community is ready to go to any extent to protect its land, culture, and rights,” he asserted.
