Srinagar: Security forces neutralised two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists in a major operation launched on Thursday in the Singhpora and Chhatru areas of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. The operation, which is still underway, has also cornered two additional militants, with intermittent exchange of fire continuing.
Joint operation with police and Army
According to the White Knight Corps, the encounter began in the early hours of the day after security personnel established contact with the terrorists in Chhatru. The joint operation involves Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army units, with reinforcements brought in to intensify the cordon-and-search effort. The area remains under complete lockdown to prevent any escape.
Seizure of properties linked to Pak-based handlers
In a parallel crackdown, Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized multiple properties linked to Pakistan-based terror handlers. These properties, located in Sopore (Baramulla) and Awantipora (Pulwama), were found to be registered under the names of four wanted handlers. Legal proceedings were already in progress against them before the attachments were executed.
