Ranchi: Jharkhand Congress spokesperson Sonal Shanti accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using Congress as a shield to hide its own “dark truth.” She asserted that BJP’s political identity has become synonymous with revisiting past events and spreading lies, rather than addressing current realities.

Avoiding Present Issues

According to Shanti, BJP lacks any real achievements to present today and instead tries to distract people with narratives from 40 years ago. She criticized the ruling party’s failure to control rising crime in BJP-led states and highlighted its inability to deal with pressing issues like inflation and unemployment.

Double Standards on Dynastic Politics

Taking aim at BJP’s repeated criticism of dynastic politics, Shanti said the party has yet to build a strong identity of its own. “Over 40% of BJP MPs are originally from Congress or other parties—those whom BJP itself labels as dynastic,” she noted.

Hemant Soren Doesn’t Need Advice From Central Ministers

Shanti emphasized that Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who leads the Mahagathbandhan government, does not need unsolicited advice from Union Ministers. She said the state government is functioning efficiently and the people of Jharkhand have rejected BJP’s divisive politics. On the issue of infiltration, she pointedly remarked that questions should be directed at Home Minister Amit Shah, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
