Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has partnered with Whistling Woods International (WWI) to introduce India’s first MBA in Media & Entertainment, a landmark step in blending management expertise with creative industries. The initiative aims to prepare leaders capable of driving innovation and global competitiveness in the fast-evolving M&E sector.
A Transformative Academic Collaboration
Combining WWI’s experiential learning with IIM Mumbai’s academic rigour, the new program covers a broad spectrum of media and entertainment — from film, TV, and OTT to corporate finance, data science, brand management, intellectual property, animation, comics, and M&E law. Students will study across both campuses, gaining exposure through live projects, real-world case studies, and mentorship from industry stalwarts.
Industry Leaders Back The Initiative
Whistling Woods chairman Subhash Ghai called the partnership a milestone that equips graduates with creative vision and business acumen. The collaboration was recently discussed in a meeting involving Ghai, IIM Mumbai director Dr. Manoj Tiwari, Dr. P.K. Mishra (Principal Secretary to the PM), Subhash Chandra, and Ajay Bijli, underscoring government and industry interest in the program’s success.
