Rajnath Singh Warns Pakistan Over Sir Creek Build-Up, Cites Route To Karachi

Bhuj: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, cautioning that any misadventure near the disputed Sir Creek region would face a response strong enough to “change both history and geography.” His remarks came during ‘Shashtra Pujan’ celebrations, as concerns grow over Pakistan’s reported military infrastructure expansion near the Gujarat coastline.

Sir Creek Dispute And Military Build-Up

Singh accused Pakistan of deliberately reigniting the long-standing Sir Creek border dispute, noting that the Pakistani army had recently expanded its military presence in the marshy strip adjoining India. “India has made several attempts to resolve the issue through dialogue, but Pakistan’s intentions remain unclear,” he said. Warning Islamabad, he added, “Pakistan should remember — one route to Karachi passes through the Creek.”

Historical Context And Operation Sindoor Reference

Recalling India’s advance up to Lahore during the 1965 war, Singh emphasized that Indian forces remain fully prepared to retaliate. He also highlighted Pakistan’s failed attempt to breach India’s defences during Operation Sindoor, stating that Indian forces had “exposed Pakistan’s air defence system” and demonstrated their ability to inflict heavy losses whenever necessary. Singh reiterated that India’s fight against cross-border terrorism would continue undeterred.
