New Delhi: The Indian Air Force celebrated its 93rd Air Force Day on Wednesday at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad, where 97 air fighters were honoured for their exemplary service, including those who played a crucial role in the airstrike against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.
Air Force Day Celebrations
The day began with the Chiefs of the three services and the Chief of Defence Staff paying tribute to the martyrs. On the eve of Air Force Day, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh addressed the nation, reaffirming the IAF’s unwavering commitment to defending the country’s borders and ensuring the security of its citizens and military installations.
IAF’s Legacy And Operations
Air Chief Marshal Singh highlighted Operation Sindoor as a prime example of coordination, leadership, and indigenous capability within the armed forces. He emphasized that when the nation’s forces unite, no challenge is insurmountable. He also praised the IAF’s humanitarian contributions during operations such as Operation Sindhu and Operation Brahma, where air warriors demonstrated extraordinary service in disaster relief and evacuation missions.
Tribute To Veterans
Singh expressed gratitude to the IAF veterans, acknowledging their legacy of service. He noted that whether in flood relief operations, natural disasters, or the evacuation of Indian citizens from foreign soil, the Air Force has always been the first to respond.
