New Delhi: The alleged mastermind behind the firing incidents at Kapil Sharma’s KAP’s Café in Canada has been arrested in India. Delhi Police Crime Branch detained the accused, Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, marking a major breakthrough in the international probe.
Sekhon Linked to Gangster Network, Weapon Seized During Arrest
Police officials confirmed that Sekhon is allegedly associated with gangster Goldy Brar’s syndicate and was previously linked to Goldy Dhillon as well. A Chinese-made pistol was recovered from his possession during the arrest, providing crucial evidence for further investigation into the cross-border crime network.
Three Separate Shootings Shook Canadian Authorities and Reached Parliament
KAP’s Café was targeted in three firing incidents in 2025 — on July 10, August 7, and October 16. Although no injuries were reported, the repeated attacks raised major concerns over public safety and law enforcement efficiency, leading to discussions even inside the Canadian Parliament. Kapil Sharma had described the shootings as clear exposure of security lapses and growing gang violence.
Kapil Sharma’s Statement After the Attacks
Sharma said that despite the shootings, he had never felt unsafe in India—especially in Mumbai—where security and law-and-order systems are stronger. He acknowledged that although the incidents triggered worry among visitors, the arrests now bring hope for improved safety and confidence among customers.
