Ranchi: Multiple flights from Ranchi Airport were cancelled due to operational issues, causing major inconvenience to passengers. A total of 11 IndiGo flights were cancelled, affecting travel to major cities including Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Long List of Cancelled Flights Adds to Passenger Troubles
Among the cancelled flights were 6E 6484/6799 (PNQ–IXR–BLR), 6E 421/398 (HYD–IXR–HYD), 6E 5071/2294 (DEL–IXR–DEL), 6E 6758/5139 (DEL–IXR–DEL), 6E 327/328 (HYD–IXR–HYD), 6E 6493/6184 (AMD–IXR–AMD), 6E 795/5017 (BOM–IXR–BOM), 6E 6113/209 (MAA–IXR–MAA), 6E 186/191 (HYD–IXR–HYD), 6E 5339/6031 (DEL–IXR–DEL) and 6E 221/6272 (BLR–IXR–PNQ). Continuous cancellations and delays sparked rising complaints from travellers across terminals.
Dedicated Operations Control Room Set Up for Assistance
In response to growing frustration, Ranchi Airport management has established a special Operations Control Room to speed up monitoring of flights, issue real-time updates to passengers, improve coordination with airlines and ensure timely information sharing. All flight delays and cancellations will now be tracked and communicated proactively to minimise inconvenience. A helpline — 0651-2250282 — has been released for passengers whose flights have been impacted.
Aim to Smooth Travel Experience Despite Disruptions
Officials stated the step is intended to streamline airport operations and prevent last-minute distress for travellers. Passengers have been urged to check updates and contact the helpline for assistance until flight services stabilise.
