Ranchi/Delhi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jharkhand conducted an early-morning raid in Delhi on Wednesday in search of Snigdha Singh, wife of Nexgen automobile businessman Vinay Singh, who is accused in a major land scam. The raid took place at the Vasant Vihar residence of a Government of India Joint Secretary. Snigdha Singh, however, escaped moments before the team arrived. ACB officials detained her son, Sanat Kumar, for questioning.
ACB Tracks Digital Trails, Son Reveals Key Information
According to sources, ACB’s technical cell had been tracking Snigdha Singh’s digital footprint and location for days. This surveillance indicated her presence at the Vasant Vihar government residence. Acting swiftly, ACB formed a special team and rushed to Delhi.
Although Snigdha could not be found, her son Sanat Singh was taken into custody for interrogation (not arrest). During questioning, he reportedly disclosed details about the movable and immovable assets of Vinay Choubey, Vinay Singh, and his mother Snigdha Singh.
New Properties and Digital Evidence Uncovered
During the raid, ACB seized several digital devices from the residence, which are now being analysed. Officials said they found evidence of multiple properties purchased in Vasant Vihar, including a C-24 property believed to be used for benami transactions and concealing illegal activities.
Investigators expect the recovered electronic evidence to shed light on the land scam, possible money-laundering routes, and the investment trail of funds siphoned off in the liquor scam.
