A comprehensive one-year autopsy-based study by AIIMS, New Delhi has reaffirmed the safety of Covid-19 vaccines, concluding that there is no scientific evidence connecting vaccination to sudden deaths among young adults aged 18 to 45. The findings strongly counter misinformation circulating about vaccine risks.
Study Shows No Correlation Between Vaccination and Sudden Deaths
Researchers analysed sudden death cases using detailed methods, including verbal autopsies, post-mortem imaging, conventional autopsies and histopathology. According to the AIIMS study, published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research, vaccination status showed no statistically significant association with sudden deaths.
Most deaths were attributed to known medical causes, primarily cardiovascular diseases, along with respiratory and other non-cardiac conditions. The data also showed that Covid infection history and vaccination rates were similar across age groups, eliminating claims of a direct link.
Experts Urge Public to Trust Scientific Evidence
Lead researcher Dr. Sudheer Arava said the study is crucial in countering misleading narratives about vaccine safety. He stressed that the findings align with global scientific literature confirming vaccines’ safety and effectiveness.
Health experts reiterated that sudden young deaths often stem from undiagnosed cardiac issues, lifestyle factors or other medical conditions. They emphasised regular health screenings and timely interventions to prevent such tragedies, while urging the public to rely on credible scientific sources and avoid misinformation.
