Ranchi: Jharkhand will continue to experience a strong cold spell, as the weather department has forecast no significant change in minimum temperatures over the next five days, with chilly conditions expected to persist across the state.
Minimum Temperature Likely to Stay Around 8°C
According to the Meteorological Department, from December 16 to December 19, the minimum temperature across most parts of the state is likely to hover around 8 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain close to 24 degrees Celsius during this period, offering little relief from the cold.
Gumla Coldest, Chaibasa Records Highest Maximum
On the latest observation day, Chaibasa recorded the highest maximum temperature at 27.4 degrees Celsius, while Gumla reported the lowest minimum temperature at 7.1 degrees Celsius. At least six districts — Daltonganj, Khunti, Lohardaga, Latehar, Seraikela and Gumla — recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, indicating widespread cold conditions.

Ranchi recorded 24.4°C maximum and 10.2°C minimum, Jamshedpur 27.2°C and 12.4°C, Daltonganj 25.6°C and 8.7°C, Bokaro 24.1°C and 10.5°C, Chaibasa 27.4°C and 10.6°C, Khunti 24.8°C and 7.5°C, Lohardaga 22.4°C and 8.8°C, Latehar 19.3°C and 8.6°C, Seraikela 26.5°C and 9.8°C, and Gumla 24.2°C with a low of 7.1°C.
Cold Conditions to Continue
The weather department has indicated that there is little chance of any major fluctuation in temperatures in the coming days, suggesting that residents should remain prepared for continued cold conditions across Jharkhand.
