After recent threats and firing incidents linked to Bollywood personalities, actor Ayush Sharma—Salman Khan’s brother-in-law—has now reportedly received a threatening email, prompting Mumbai Police to begin an investigation.
Threat Email Received on Wednesday
According to reports, Ayush Sharma received the email on Wednesday, after which the matter was informed to the police. Considering the seriousness of the threat, Mumbai Police has started verifying the email and tracing its source.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Mentioned in the Mail
Police sources said the sender claimed to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The email allegedly demanded a ransom of crores and threatened to kill the actor if the money was not paid. However, the claim has not been officially confirmed, and the email has not been made public.
Police Checking If It Is Real or a Hoax
Although Ayush Sharma has not yet filed a formal complaint, Mumbai Police has begun preliminary investigation due to the sensitivity of the case. Officials are examining whether the email is linked to an organised extortion network or if it is the act of a mischief-maker.
Similar Threat Reported in Ranveer Singh Case
This development comes soon after reports that actor Ranveer Singh also received a threat. As per initial information, Ranveer’s assistant reportedly got a WhatsApp voice note from an unknown number demanding money. Police suspect a possible extortion pattern, though no conclusion has been reached yet.
Rohit Shetty’s House Firing Raised Security Concerns
Last week, filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence in Mumbai was reportedly fired upon, with an unknown person allegedly shooting five rounds outside his home. No one was injured. Mumbai Police later arrested five suspects from Pune and booked them under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). The accused have been sent to police custody till February 17, 2026, and authorities are investigating whether the incidents are connected.
