Washington: US President Donald Trump announced a temporary halt on attacks targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure for 10 days, claiming it was based on a request from Tehran, but Iran has firmly denied making any such appeal.
US Announces Pause In Attacks
Trump stated that the United States would suspend strikes on Iran’s energy facilities until April 6, 8 PM, indicating that ongoing discussions between the two sides were progressing positively. He also dismissed media reports suggesting otherwise, asserting that negotiations were moving in a constructive direction. Earlier, Trump had warned Iran that failure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours could lead to attacks on major energy infrastructure.
Iran Denies Any Request Or Talks
Iran, however, rejected Trump’s claims, stating that it had neither requested a halt to the attacks nor engaged in any negotiations with the US. According to media reports, Tehran clarified that no such communication had taken place and termed the US President’s statements as inaccurate. Iran reiterated that it has not sought any relief from ongoing military pressure on its energy installations.
