Salman Khan came out strongly in defence of actress Katrina Kaif during Bigg Boss 20’s Weekend Ka Vaar episode, sharply criticising online trolls for mocking her post-pregnancy weight, even as he took the housemates to task and Rohit Khan became the season’s first evictee.
Salman Defends Katrina Over Weight-Related Trolling
Katrina Kaif has been facing trolling on social media in recent days over her weight gain. Addressing the issue during the episode, Salman said it is natural for a woman’s body to change after becoming a mother, adding that Katrina would get back in shape according to her work whenever she returns to films. He also spoke about the trolling he himself faces over his age, saying that while people call him old, he openly accepts that he has turned 60, and that ageing is nothing to hide — something everyone must learn to embrace.
Salman Removes Jacket to Make a Point to Trolls
In his signature style, Salman responded to trolls on stage by taking off his jacket and other clothing to show off his fitness, saying people should look at themselves before commenting on someone else’s body. He said trolls should examine their own appearance before passing judgement on others, and stressed that audiences buying tickets to watch a film does not give them ownership over the actors. He also criticised paparazzi practices, saying that photographing or filming women from behind can make them uncomfortable, and expressed displeasure over inappropriate comments made about celebrities’ clothes, looks and bodies.
Rohit Khan Becomes First Contestant Evicted
The Weekend Ka Vaar episode also saw the season’s first eviction, with Rohit Khan exiting the Bigg Boss 20 house. While Asif Khan and Scout OP had been directly nominated for violating house rules, Rohit Khan’s journey on the show came to an end after receiving the fewest votes from the public.
