Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached Delhi on Friday to take part in a rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, with his party, the JMM, issuing instructions for all its MPs and senior leaders to join as well.

Congress Rally Under “Vote Bachao-Desh Bachao” Banner

The Congress has organised the rally and march at Ramlila Maidan on November 1 under the slogans “Vote Bachao-Desh Bachao” and “Vote Chor-Gaddi Chhod.” Leaders and workers of the Congress and other opposition parties have begun travelling to Delhi from across the country to attend.

Opposition Aims to Raise Pressure on Government

Opposition parties are mounting an aggressive campaign demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The presence of heads and leaders of all opposition parties at Ramlila Maidan is expected to increase pressure on the government and build a climate against Kumar.

Rahul Gandhi’s Appeal to All Parties

The Congress has kept the rally beyond the confines of any single party. Rahul Gandhi has called on all parties to come and demand the removal of the CEC, held responsible for irregularities in the SIR, and to send a message to the Modi government that this will no longer be tolerated and that Gyanesh Kumar “will have to go.”
