2-day police remand for 3 held for govt toppling bid

RANCHI: The Special court of Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday allowed state police to take all the three persons accused of toppling the State government on remand for interrogation.

Though the police had demanded the accused on remand for four days, the court allowed only two days.

The remand period will start at 3pm today and continue till 3pm on August 7. After the end of 48 hours the remand period, the court has directed police to produce them before it.

The court instructed the investigating officer of the case not to torture any of the accused during interrogation.

The accused include Abhishek Dubey, Amit Singh and Niwaran Prasad Mahto.
