Ranchi, Aug.10: Demands related to the development of the railway in Jharkhand raised by local BJP MP Sanjay Seth are taken for granted by the union railway minister from his own party.

It came to the fore after a rough study on the status of the demands raised by Seth, who became MP in 2019 for the first time. Since Seth became Ranchi MP, he raised several demands that can help improve railway infrastructure in Jharkhand and improve the life of local people but none of the demands has been fulfilled so far raising doubt over the influence of a BJP MP in the BJP government.

The demands included the establishment of water plants in colliery area using waterlogged excavated mines, the opening of the zonal office in Ranchi, construction of over bridge at Ketari Bagan and Chutia, construction of flyover in Ranchi, running of Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express via Lohardaga and Tori, daily running of Rajdhani Express and Ranchi-Jaynagar Express besides provision of Kisan Rail for vegetable vendors and vista dome coaches for tourists.

Each demand is so important that it will not only generate job opportunities but also improve the connectivity of Jharkhand capital with the country capital and improve tourism and industry but so far it is being ignored. Apart from this, it will also reduce the dependency of the state for official work-related to railways on zonal offices at Hajipur in Bihar and Calcutta in West Bengal.

Seth admitted the situation but did not express his dissatisfaction with the minister from his party.

“Demands will be gradually fulfilled, I think. My demand for running Rajdhani Express via Lohardaga and Tori is likely to be fulfilled in the near future. As far as the establishment of the zonal office in Ranchi is concerned it is a policy matter. I am regularly monitoring the status of my demands raised. When I go to Delhi I go to the railway ministry and mount pressure on concerned officials. Covid-19 is also coming as a hurdle. I hope each of my demands will be fulfilled,” Seth said.
