Dhanbad Aug 11: The special court (CBI) of Shikha Agrawal on Wednesday sent auto driver Lakhan Verma and his accomplice Rahul Verma, accused of knocking down District & Sessions Judge Uttam Anand, to the CBI remand for 10 more days.

After completing five days’ remand, the CBI today produced them in the Special Court and demanded extending their remand for 10 more days for completing the investigation.
Anand was killed in a road accident in the early morning on July 28 at Randhir Verma Chowk near district court under Sadar police station while on a morning walk. The district police recovered the auto the same day in Giridih district and arrested both the accused.

A senior police official said that the CBI has got an extension of remand so that both the accused could be taken out of the state for the Narco test. There is a nontechnical facility for the Narco test in Jharkhand.

The CBI on Tuesday had conducted a Forensic Psychology Assessment,  Forensic  Assessment  Analysis, and polygraph test of both the arrested accused Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma at the Central Institute of Mineral Fuel Research (CIMFR) guest house.

The police official said the CBI  has already recreated the accident scene at Randhir Verma Chowk with both the accused and the auto used in the accident.  Experts of Central Forensic Science Lab (CFSL) have also collected evidence from the spot.  “So now only Narco test has been left to get a breakthrough in the investigation. So, they (CBI officers)   have got an extension of remand for their Narco test,”  the police official said.
