Ranchi, Aug.14: A special aeroplane today took off from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi and landed at Deoghar Airport to examine the runway and technical equipment, ILS system, fitted on both ends of the airport that help a plane in landing and take off.
The aeroplane helps detect any technical fault with the help of its system. Before taking off from Ranchi the aeroplane had also landed at Gaya and Jharsuguda. From Deoghar it will go to Varanasi.
Airport officials at Birsa Munda Airport said that the aeroplane belongs to the Airport Authority of India and is used for regular examination of airports across the country.
An airport official said in aviation ILS (instrument landing system) is a radio navigation system that provides short-range guidance to aircraft to allow them to approach a runway at night or in bad weather. In its original form, it allows an aircraft to approach until it is 200 feet (61 m) over the ground, within a 1?2 mile of the runway.
