Jamshedpur, Aug 27: K.Satyanarayana took over as the new director of Central Tasar Research and Training Institute at Nagdi in Ranchi on Thursday evening.
The institute announced this by issuing a press note today.
Satyanarayana was earlier looking after the affairs of silk research and coordination all over India at the Central Silk Board in Bangalore. His effort in the field of research has been commendable.
Satyanarayana has vast experience of about 35 years in the field of silk research.
He has published about 267 national and international research papers in various journals.
The erstwhile director CM Bajpai retired from his service on July 31, this year.
Central Tasar Research and Training Institute, referred to as CTR & TI, Ranchi was established in 1964.
It functions under the Central Silk Board which carries out research and development to cater to the needs of Tasar silk Industry, a tribal-based rural enterprise in the country.
With its network of eight regional stations, eleven extension centres, one Oak tasar grainage ( a place for storing cocoons) at Imphal the institute provides the state-of-the-art technological know-how to various states, both under tropical and temperate tasar sector.
