Ranchi, Aug.30: A youth, who exploited a girl sexually in Simdega after luring her for marriage, was arrested from Kanke in Ranchi last night.
Simdega police informed this saying that the action was taken on the information of the girl when the youth in order to sexually exploit her took a vulgar photo and made it viral on social media and then refused to marry.
Superintendent of police of Simdega, Shams Tabrez, confirmed the breakthrough saying Bhola Nath Singh became friendly with the girl in 2019 after he proposed for marriage and later refused it saying her mother had died in the same month.
“Though the girl refused, Singh started visiting her house and lured her saying he will not demand any dowry from her for marriage. After promising marriage, he started visiting the house of the girl and established sexual relations several times. He somehow managed to take her vulgar photo and made it viral. Later he refused to marry her on that ground,” Tabrez said.
“The matter was reported to Mahila Thana on Aug.28 and then police swung into action. Accused was arrested and forwarded to judicial custody,” Tabrez said.
