Jamshedpur, Sept 1: A 22-year-old youth, identified as Ankit Tiwary having criminal antecedent was hacked to death at Birsanagar locality of the city.
His body was found early this morning at Zone No. 3 in Birsanagar.
Ankit Tiwary alias Nanhu Tiwary had a fight with his friends past midnight which ultimately resulted in his murder. He was attacked with a sharp weapon.
Police found his body in a pool of blood at the spot. Birsanagar police took the body into their possession and sent it to MGM Medical College’s forensic department for post-mortem.
Confirming the murder senior SP of East Singhbhum Tamil S Vannan said the victim was attacked with a sharp weapon.
” He was wanted in several cases related to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances ( NDPS ) and Arms Act cases and gone to jail several times. He had a fight with his friends last night. The murder happened early this morning, ” said the senior SP adding that a probe has been initiated in this regard.
The murder created a sensation in the area.
According to local residents of Birsanagar’s Zone No. 3 where the murder took place, they heard loud noise past midnight in their locality.
” There were some fights between local youths. Police had also come to settle the issue. But, this morning we came to know about the murder. The body of the murder victim was detected around 5.30 am, ” said a local resident.
