Dhanbad Sept 2 : A construction company staff was crushed to death under a train near Kurman village under the town police station of Godda district on Thursday morning.
A police official said the deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar Sinha (30). He was referred to Bhagalpur super specialty hospital in critical condition but died on the way on Thursday morning.
This was the second time a villager was crushed to death since train services started from Godda district in April this year. Earlier, two persons had been crushed to death near Godda station two months ago.
Town police station officer-in-charge Mukesh Kumar Pandey said that the incident reportedly occurred on the night of Wednesday. Amit Kumar’s both legs and left hand had been chopped off in the incident. Villagers and Government Railway Police (GRP) with the help of 108 ambulance got him admitted to Godda Sadar hospital for primary treatment.
“Having seen his condition critical doctors referred Amit Kumar Sinha to Bhagalpur super specialty hospital in morning of Thursday but he succumbed to his injuries on the way,” said the officer-in-charge Mukesh Kumar Pandey. He said the body has been sent for post mortem.
Sinha was a resident of Kurman village. He is survived by his wife and two children. Village sources said he was allegedly in drunken condition at the time of the incident.
