Ghatshila, Sept.21: The matter of assaulting Ashwani Kumar Das, the Panchayat Secretary of Patpur Panchayat of Bahragora block by MLA Samir Mahanti has started gaining momentum. The employees of Bahragora Block cum Circle Office on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to BDO Rajesh Kumar Sahu, taking the decision to strike and boycott the work. The employees of the block-cum-zone said that MLA Samir Mahanti along with Mukhiya Tarun Rana and JMM worker Sumit Maiti assaulted and abused the Panchayat Secretary after calling in their office. This leaves the employees feeling insecure. The behavior of the MLA with the government employees is condemnable.
The employees have demanded registering an FIR against the culprits and proper legal action against the accused from the BDO. They said that they will continue the agitation in a phased manner until proper action is taken on this. All the employees will boycott work on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Block Agriculture Officer Shivanand Ghatwari, Jan Sevak cum Panchayat Secretary Girish Chandra Tudu, Mangal Murmu. Rajendra Kumar, Mangal Tudu, Jitendra Kumar Nayak, Upendranath Mahato, Sadhan Kumar Nayak, Satyanath Sardar Tapas Kumar Das, Rasaraj Mahto, Manoj Kumar Basuri, Tarun Kumar Sao, Tapan Kumar Bera, Sonaram Murmu, Jagannath Pal, Ashish Kumar Maiti, Govind Tudu, Dharmendra Prasad, Sonu Nag, Ranjeet Soren, Sonaram Murmu, etc. All the block-cum-zone personnel were present.
