Ranchi, Sept 24: A 9-member delegation led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding caste census, Sarna Dharam code and reservation for backward classes on September 26.
In the delegation to meet the Home Minister, no state BJP leader will be included. At the same time, BJP’s ally AJSU Party is joining this delegation. Apart from this, representatives of Congress, RJD, and Left parties will also be present in the delegation. The delegation will consist of 2 representatives each from the JMM and the Congress.
On the fourth day of the Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren had said in the House that the government has taken positive steps on caste census and reservation for backward classes.
After the heated politics regarding caste census, states like Bihar and Jharkhand had talked to the central government to hold meetings in this regard. Recently, on August 23, a delegation of 10 leaders of Bihar, led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, met Prime Minister Modi. They demanded that not only in Bihar but in the entire country, caste census should be done. Now, Jharkhand has also taken a step in this direction.
