Lucknow, Oct 7: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu’s convoy going to Lakhimpur Kheri was stopped at Saharanpur on the UP border today. Angered by this, Congressmen broke the first barricade of the UP Police. Following this, the police have detained several MLAs including Sidhu and the ministers accompanying him; Amarinder Singh Raja Vading, Vijayendra Singla and Gurkeerat Kotli.

Earlier in Mohali, Sidhu had said that if the Union Minister of State for Home, Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish is not arrested by tomorrow (Friday), he will go on a hunger strike. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has reached Lakhimpur to meet the family of the deceased.
