Dhanbad, Oct 9: Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) has, for the third time, opened its Chancellor Portal for admission in the vacant undergraduate courses’ seats in its Dhanbad and Bokaro districts’ constituent and minority colleges.

BBMKU admission cell’s chairman Prof. Vinita Gupta said that the Chancellor Portal has been opened again. Students can now file online applications for their admission. The last date of applying is October 15. She made it clear that this is the last chance of admission and that the university would not open its admission gates after this.

As per the official sources, there are around 22,000 graduate seats in the constituent colleges of the university but even after publishing the second list, 6551 seats are still vacant.

A senior official at BBMKU said that earlier there used to be a rush among students for taking admission in courses like economics, political science and science. But in this session, seats in these courses in most of the colleges are still vacant.

Official records tell that most seats are vacant in Katras College (1110) and lowest seats are in a minority college namely Gurunank College (303).  Among the 10 constituent colleges of Dhanbad and Bokaro, Chas College ( Bokaro) has second highest vacant seats (760) followed by RS More College Govindpur ( 638), Sindri College (624), PK Roy Memorial College (606), RSP College Jharia (574), Bokaro Steel City College ( 557), BSK College Maithon ( 550), SSLNT Women’s College ( 540) and KB College (492).

Prof. Vinita Gupta also said that seats of UG in history had been filled up in second list itself. So the Chancellor Portal for this course is closed. Similarly, seats in Hindi and English in two premiere colleges, SSLN Women’s College and PK Roy Memorial College, have already been filled up. Although in other colleges, seats in these two courses are still vacant.
