Daltonganj, Oct 25: The Nilamber-Pitamber University in Daltonganj has called for the deputation/ transfer of a couple of teachers.

Dr. Bimal Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor of English at GLA College, has been deputed to the degree college Manika as the college’s professor in-charge. He is to replace Dr. Suresh Sahu (Hindi department) who was the professor in-charge of the college.

Sahu has been sent to the Department of Hindi in a premier commerce college named J S College in Daltonganj.

Registrar of the Nilamber Pitamber University, Rakesh Singh, has issued a notification to this effect under orders of the Vice-Chancellor (VC), Dr Ram Lakhan Singh, on October 23.

In another shakeup, the VC has ordered to bring back an assistant professor of psychology, C Mehta, to the SSJSN College in Garhwa who was earlier sent to GLA College, Daltonganj.

On the other hand, M Kumar, an assistant professor (Psychology) in the J S College Daltonganj has been asked to join GLA college,Daltonganj.

University sources said that the shakeup is necessitated following demands of the students for teachers in the said subjects.

The newly notified professor in-charge of the degree college Manika, Dr Bimal Kr Singh, when asked about how he takes up this new assignment said, “The University has reposed trust and confidence in me and I would try to deliver my best there.”

Degree College, Manika is in the tribal heartland of the Latehar district which has only three affiliated degree colleges in the whole district; one at Manika, one at Latehar and one at Mahuadanr.

Sources said that 12 years old Nilamber Pitamber University, which came into existence in 2009, is made to battle for everything such as its own campus, own administrative building and for a fleet of teachers right from assistant professors to the professors.

University sources said that the officials have to rush to J S College, Daltonganj premise if it is to hold any big meeting like that of NSS or any allied things because the present premise in which this university runs on rent, is inadequate for its outreach.

The Nilamber-Pitamber University has been functioning on rent from the guest house of the Zila Parishad, Palamu since 2009. The official chamber of the VC is always crowded as eight or ten people always gather there.

It is being said that a multi-crore administrative building of this university is coming up in the backyard of its own prestigious GLA college, but the Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Ranchi that is constructing it, is itself not sure as to when this university will shed-off its image of a tenant in the Zila Parishad guest house .

One engineer of this construction corporation said that at least the chamber and office of the VC and registrar was supposed to be completed by August end. But to date, there is no word from the corporation or from the university as to when it will move into its new building.
